The Hear New Mexico Story

Hear New Mexico was founded in October 2025 as a mobile-only hearing health service by Dr. Allison Coltisor, New Mexico's only post-doctoral audiologist and the only one in the state with a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Vestibular Sciences and Disorders. Before coming to New Mexico, Dr. Coltisor trained at Vanderbilt and worked in rural Appalachia, where she developed a deep understanding of what it means to serve communities with limited access to specialty care. That experience shapes everything about how Hear New Mexico operates: unhurried appointments, honest answers, and a genuine commitment to making sure no patient is turned away because of cost or the inability to travel.

Our clinic in Los Alamos launched in November of 2025. We offer a full range of specialty audiology services to patients of all ages, including cochlear implant consultations, mapping, and activation; balance and vestibular evaluation; Central Auditory Processing Disorder testing for adults and children; TBI audiology; and hearing aid fittings including non-wireless, DoD-compliant devices for cleared employees. We also come to you: our mobile and home-visit services bring care directly to homebound and bedbound patients across Central and Northern New Mexico including Albuquerque.

Sliding-scale fees and hands-on Medicaid (Turquoise Care) navigation mean that specialty-level hearing care is within reach for every New Mexican who needs it.
